The Modern Ju-Jitsu School Malta was founded in Nov.1997. The Dojo is located right in the heart of Malta, in Mosta. The Club is frequented by many students, both male and female and from a variety of ages. The reasons for attending is quite personal; some aim to be proficient in self defense, whilst others want to gain self-confidence.

What is Ju-Jitsu?

Ju-Jitsu literally means "gentle art". As one of the oldest Japanese martial arts, it originally, but not exclusively, stressed unarmed combat against armed opponents. It was studied by the Samurai to compliment their sword and spear techniques. Over the years, many of these techniques were either adopted or incorporated by virtually all other Japanese open-handed martial arts. Infact, ju-jitsu is sometimes called the father of the Japanese martial arts, with both Aikido and Judo developing directly from it.
